Jody Herman, MS, RDN, CEDRD

I am a Registered Dietitian, Nutrition Educator, and Certified Eating Disorder Specialist (CEDRD). I provide one-on-one and group nutrition counseling for dancers, dance teachers, and studios to help support food/nutrition related goals for dancers. I have also participated in public speaking engagements for the performing arts community and mental health clinicians, discussing topics including nutrition, body image, and mental health. Formerly a professional dancer, I found myself attracted to the dietetics field after a series of injuries knocked me out of my performance career. After that, I set my sights on finding ways to support a better quality of life, longevity, and autonomy over body image within my community of dancers.  Over the years, I danced professionally in Cleveland, OH with Verlezza Dance Company and in New York, NY, training under the José Limon Dance Company and as a freelance modern dancer. I was able to dance with amazing choreographers like Greg Nuber and Sarah Skaggs. I also attended several intensives and continue to dance in my free time. Continuing my journey, I graduated with my Masters in Human Nutrition from Drexel University in Philadelphia. My passion lies in working with dancers on building a positive relationship with food, body image, and overall self-trust.
